Let’s go back. Way back. Mobil 1 Supercar can. That’s right, it’s backwards compatible to the first year Mobil 1 advanced synthetic motor oil came factory fill in Corvette. That means 1993 model years and newer.

Our investment in Corvette performance began with the fourth-generation Corvette, and continues with the most powerful naturally-aspirated production V8 found in a car today: the venerable Corvette Z06. The LT6 will see the first use of Mobil 1 Supercar 5W-50, but more on that later. It’s coming. And it’s the only motor oil carrying the dexosR-spec required by the hand-built 670-hp mid-engine masterpiece. Super enough?

Only the highest performance GM engines are being factory filled with Mobil 1 Supercar. This includes the most powerful Corvette, Cadillac, and Camaro models that feature the LT1 or LT4 engines, and any future engines that require a dexosR-approved motor oil. Not only that, the Mobil 1 Supercar family of products are the first to receive the coveted dexosR-approval.
Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 advanced synthetic motor oil is the result of almost 24 months of grueling tests and precise engineering. While the viscosity is identical, the formulation of Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 motor oil is specifically designed to guarantee it meets the strict dexosR-spec required for all fourth-generation and later Corvette models.
Do you own a Corvette built in 1993 or later? Do you like driving your Corvette more than changing its oil? If the answer to both questions is yes, then we recommend picking up Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40. With one exception being the seventh-generation Corvette ZR1 where we recommend Mobil 1 15W-50 when on the track. For those with a Corvette model produced before 1993, we recommend Mobil 1 15W-50 for both street AND track use. For strict track use on pre-1993 models, we recommend Mobil 1 Racing™ 0W-50.
