Mobil Rarus SHC™ 1024 helps HANDS Corporation with air compressor
Extended oil drain intervals
up to 2xSituation
HANDS Corporation produces automotive wheels and operates 57 air compressor units at their Incheon plant. These air compressors were lubricated with a mineral oil and were utilized 24/7 throughout the year. The objectives of the plant were to increase the reliability of the compressors, extend the oil drain interval and improve energy efficiency.
Recommendation
After evaluating the situation, the ExxonMobil Lube Engineer recommended Mobil Rarus SHC™ 1024 air compressor lubricant and the implementation of Mobil ServSM Lubricant Analysis program.
Result
With the deployment of Mobil Rarus SHC 1024, significant savings have been achieved. In addition, the application expertise provided by Mobil Engineering Services has improved the productivity of the plant.
The benefits resulted from:
- Extension of oil drain interval from six to 12 months, with annual savings of approximately US $9,000
- Reduction of energy consumption by about 3 percent, with annual savings of approximately US $57,000
- Reduction of compressor air/discharge temperature from an average of 86°C to 82°C (187°F to 180°F)
