Situation
The oven conveyor system at YS Success Sdn Bhd operates at temperatures of up to 160°C (320°F), which caused the conventional mineral grease to soften, bleed out of the conveyor bearings and contaminate finished products. Additionally, deposits began to form on the bearings and created erratic, jerky movements in the conveyor system, which affected the paint job quality of the auto spray units. As a result, finished products were rejected at a rate of 50 percent.
